I'm so excited!

I'm going to mac tomorrow.  For the first time ever! I have no idea what I'm going to do once I'm in there apart from possibly wee-ing myself a little but MAC!! 

I'm a little excited! 

Also, our tree is finally up and it's starting to look a bit more festive round here! And the cats haven't killed it... yet - More excitement!

Old cats are cold cats!

With winter upon us, my little tooter, Honey, is really starting to feel the cold.  It doesn't help that her belly is still quite bald from where she over grooms.

This is a really important time of year not just to keep yourself cosy but also to keep your pussy cats cosy. If your cats are outdoor cats please, please make sure they have a reflective collar, preferably with your number on it and if they go awol, please check in surrounding sheds etc as they will try and find a warm (or less draughty) spot. 

As Honey is now about 14 years old and very little (3.2kgs) it's important that we give her a little help to keep warm (I think it is anyway!) 

So I bought her a hoody... I know, I'm mental! I got this off of amazon but I actually think it is too small for her but at least I know she wasn't totally against wearing it! This is really for dogs more than cats but the selection for cats is minimal.  

I also had a therapeutic heat pad lying around from when I used to get a lot of backache and so this is like her own electric blanket that I put on for a while at night, they have these in Argos for £29.99 which actually sounds like quite a lot but you can get them from eBay and amazon ( you can get waterproof ones!)  I use the scarves that I got from poundland for my Cheshire Cat outfit a few weeks ago.  

As for the boys, they are in the livingroom next to the radiator, or on the sofa, or on our bed... They can sleep anywhere and if they are feeling the cold they often snuggle up together - so cute! 

I'll sleep on the sofa then...

Cute cats and fine cheese!

The other week I was feeling like I might be in for a bit of a cold but it seemed to go away until this morning when I woke up with a sore throat! Boooo! The weekend before last we kinda just took it easy as it was grey skies over aberdeen for most of the weekend. I quite enjoyed pottering about and playing with the pusscats.

 There's an app called 'Games for cats' which I downloaded at the suggestion of my nephew and it's actually pretty cool.  In this part of the app, a mouse runs around on screen and if the cat hits the mouse, it squeaks, simples! Binx doesn't pay it much attention at all, honey is quite wary of it but will watch it and Nev, as you can see plonks himself down like a pro! This was a lazy Sunday morning laughing at Nev.  

He then starts to chew his way into the ipad! 

Binx then decided he was going to help with the laundry...

While Neville had a nap! 

We took Honey out for a walk in the back garden whilst we hung out some washing.  She doesn't go out much but when she does, we have her on a lead at all times.  It may seem a bit crazy but this is not an area she is used to and there are so many other cats and buses, that I would be terrified to let her out on her own.  She only likes a wee tooted around to chew some grass then she wants back in.

10 minutes outside then deserves a good, long afternoon nap! 

Meanwhile, my chum came round with a belated birthday pressie which was so unexpected but very welcome! 

Gorgeous shortbread from Murdoch Allan Bakeries, it was yum! The only bad thing was that the packet didn't last very long! ;-) 

The evening led to more munching and a movie.

We don't have a tv in the bedroom any more, we did have a brand shiny new 32 inch flat screen for about three months until one day Nev decided he would be a bird and perch on the top, the tv did a 180 flop right onto the metal drawer handle and that was that.  The screen looked like it had been shot! 

So that was our lazy day but I really quite enjoyed staying at home enjoying the quiet life.  

Also, we have a tomato plant that I'm proud as punch about!

Playtime?!

Hey Chums!

Just a wee post today on something a wee bit random!

Since we got our (3rd) cat, Honey, a few months ago, she has discovered that she really likes playing, however, she only likes playing with one particular toy...

Meet her feather wand! She goes absolutely daft for this and as soon as she sees me in the morning she will run over to it or the area of the sofa where she usually plays with it!  I got this particular one from Zooplus, although I bought three and she is on her last one.  you can also get them from some pet shops and they are usually a bit more feathery and a bit more expensive (£2.99 approx).

This is an action shot! ;-)

I think she loves this as she was an outdoor cat and so would have been used to chasing birds and mice around - she is super fast for an old girl too!

As for the boys...

They sleep. They eat.

Puss Cats Great and Small!

Hi,

As the description of this blog promises there will be cats, I figured its as good a time as any to show you my babies!! 

At the moment I have 3 puss cats which can keep me and my partner surprisingly busy!

These two handsome chaps are Binx (the nearly all black one) and Neville. They are brothers and they are going to be 4 years young this year.

They are cheeky little monkeys and I love nothing more than coming home and seeing them snuggled up together as usually they are like chalk and cheese!

This gorgeous gal is Honey and she is approx 13 years old even though she is the size of a 6 month old Neville!

Honey is staying with us just now as she was needing looked after and a bit of TLC and she is slowly adapting to having the boisterous boys around.  They are not particularly interested in her, more her food bowls!

I wouldn't be without them, even though I may say differently when Neville jumps on my head at 4.30am looking for his breakfast.
